Barga is a special case within the region: many people speak English (maybe due to the fact that a great many of their ancestors emigrated to Scotland in the 1800s), they have an English website, English bookshop, newsletter and a strange custom of an annual poll to decide on the best toilet in Barga! Its Jazz Club welcomes artists and spectators from all over who all share in the joy imparted by this swinging sound.
