The Pescia crosses the town of the same name which has been called the Tuscan flower capital. Pescia's production of flowers that are exported to various countries reaches €130 million a year, an important reason to celebrate the Biennale del Fiore in September every two years.
What to See and Do
The town deserves its name as flowers really do carpet the fields all around. The Palazzo del Vicario today houses the town hall and was built in the 1200s in the present Piazza Mazzini. The market is another must visit in the same piazza on Saturdays.
