Introduction

This ancient village still has remains of its old walls that once protected the inhabitants.
The little Museo Archeologico (tel. 0564 94 80 58; Piazza de Vetulonia) showcases artefacts unearthed from Etruscan archaeological sites located in the area (tel. 0564 94 95 87). To get to the largest excavation site called Scavi Città, head along the only road leading down Vetulonia.
There are other interesting Etruscan tombs which still remain unexplored situated on Via dei Sepolcri descending the hill a little further and then turning right.
